Heating our bodies has been a proven recovery practice since 500 B.C. when the Ancient Egyptians harnessed the powers of the sun’s rays and used them in combination with thermal baths and hot air caverns. These ancient practices are the inspiration behind what we know as modern day spa amenities.

The sauna, using dry heat with very low to no humidity is typically heated between 180-195 degrees F. It is ideal for relieving sore muscles, increasing blood flow and promoting recovery from intense physical exertion.
The steam room, slightly cooler than the sauna is heated to 100-120 degrees F with nearly 100% humidity. Added benefits of using the steam room include asthma & allergy relief and skin hydration. Acting as a giant humidifier, the steam room can help clear nasal passages and alleviate congestion due to seasonal allergy symptoms. This steam room is also highly recommended for use prior to spa treatments because it opens the pores and the skin is more readily available to be nourished by all of our delicious products!
Whether you choose the sauna or steam room, here are a few tips to maximize your heat therapy session. Always check with your doctor before you try either option to make sure you’re cleared to enjoy your time safely. Hydrate before and after your session and gradually cool down after exiting the amenities. A cool shower is available and recommended to close pores and eliminate reabsorption of toxins just released.
*Use of amenities cannot be combined with HydraFacial services.
